Filoli photos are still getting out of the camera; in the meantime I give you this - I call it

Yesterday was a big, beautiful and busy day, moreso than in many weeks past: home work, car things, the Garden, (a short nap), gardening at Bethany, choir... I haven't yet seen what is inside my camera!

I am chagrined by my lapse on the "grateful for..." sidebar, not by my ingratitude - which would be false - but do wish to impart what I truly believe: each day, every moment, every blink of an eye and vibration of the ear is a gift, and I am grateful.

Although I have been engaged in many things of late - restoring my health, working (hard), church duties, procrastinating and catching up (and I am still not "caught up") with my responsibilities - I will abandon it all and escape to the gardens of Filoli estate tomorrow for some restorative rambling and photography.

Happy Pi Day!

(okay, it's not a pie so much as a tart - though pi may have been involved - I didn't have a photo of an actual pie. And this was really yummy!)

Sometimes it helps ~ even when no one notices, and they totally match your cute t-shirt (and even your earrings) ~ to wear fun socks.

Happy birthday today to my dear friend Bertamom! (Yeah, I meant to post this late yesterday so she'd actually see it on her birthday, but the thought probably still counts... I hope.)

When I ignored the ringing land line during my nap today and the cell phone rang in my pocket right after, I thought it might be urgent; imagine feeling quite groggy but now thoroughly awake, hearing, "i'm almost home from church, and i'm going to lie down for a nap when i get there, so don't call me, i'll be sleeping."

Spring's coming - did you set your clocks forward?

I am a bit anxious about inviting dozens of people to dinner tonight (22 have accepted) at a place where I've never set foot - may it all go well, or at least, may we have fun trying!

What I woke to this morning:

Having survived a couple of emergency errands today (cell phone screen died, and refill pickup at the pharmacy), I can say with some confidence that I think I will survive if I attempt a return to work tomorrow.

I cannot begin to describe the happy relief I felt when, after calling in sick since last Monday, I heard my boss say today, "I've actually already arranged coverage for tomorrow - sounds like this was a big one - use your judgement, maybe you need one more day just to feel a bit better"

I am wondering how long it takes for this bug to travel through my body: nose, throat, sinus, lungs, ears, lymph node and back again; so sick and tired of being - well... you know.
